1. The Era of AI and Automation
🤖 Star Feature: The Facilitator Agent
Available for Teams Rooms, this AI agent acts as a real-time meeting secretary. It:
- Takes notes automatically while you speak.
- Moderates speaking time to ensure the agenda is respected.
- Identifies participants who were mentioned but are absent.
A major breakthrough. Copilot can now "see" what you share on screen. If you show an Excel table or a website, you can verbally ask: "Analyze this chart and tell me the trend" without sending anything in the chat.
AI learns your voice signature. Once enabled, Teams suppresses not only background noise (dogs, construction) but also other people's voices speaking around you in a coffee shop or open office.
2. Collaboration and Communication
Finally! Teams channels adopt a clearer threaded view, similar to social media. You can reply to a specific message without cluttering the main feed, and follow only the conversations that interest you.
Someone sends you a 50-page PDF? Don't open it. Click "Summarize" directly in the chat bubble to get the 3 key points instantly thanks to Copilot.
3D meetings no longer require a VR headset. You can join a virtual "Town Hall" directly from your PC, move around with your avatar in a virtual auditorium, and have spatialized conversations (sound comes from the direction of the person).
3. Meeting Management
A countdown timer visible to all participants to manage speaking time or the end of the meeting. Simple, but incredibly effective for avoiding overruns.
Missed the meeting? Instead of reading the transcript, listen to an AI-generated audio summary that mimics a radio news flash of the important points discussed.
For confidential meetings, the organizer can prevent screenshots. If a participant tries, their screen will turn black on the captured image.
